This is an original antique map from a rare Collins atlas published in 1871, not a reproduction or modern copy. The colours are nicely preserved and each map from this atlas is very unique with fascinating details and engravings. This map shows the distribution and limits of the cultivation of principal trees and grains especially those most useful to Man and has an engraving of mountains to show the vertical distribution of plants. It also has a reference chart showing in different colours the chief bread corns of each region.
Measurements of the map are approximately 10 x 13 inches including the white surrounding border. The back of this map is blank.
The condition of this map is remarkably good given its age. Any markings or tears will always be made clear in the listing photos.
This map will be shipped securely in a plastic sleeve and sturdy cardboard mailing tube.
